Project Description

Project resources

Crosswire hosts the sword project which is a bible software engine with different front ends. It comes packaged with a variety of texts and commentaries. There are many 'modules' that can be loaded into sword including many Bible translations, commentaries, and lexicons.

Currently, sword does not have native support for the deuterocanonicals and thus can not support the full versions of Catholic Bibles. This is something cathnet members would like to change. :)

Khoi Pham created a patch for the software and released a Catholic Version which had the Catechism as an add on module.

We will be hosting a Catholic version of sword we have dubbed 'Jerome' in honour of St. Jerome and also Khoi Pham's work. His website hosting sword was called 'the St. Jerome Biblical Foundation'.

For now we provide Khoi's version until we have our own updated version.
